Our Process
Our Process
At ound, every garment is the result of a slow, deliberate process rooted in craft, natural materials, and the hands of skilled artisans. From the raw fibre to the finished piece, each step reflects our commitment to making clothing that endures — in quality, in character, and in story.
The Artisans
Our garments are made by a community of artisans in Uruguay, many of whom have practised their craft for generations. Hand knitting, hand dyeing, and hand embroidery are not production shortcuts here — they are the heart of what we make. Each piece carries the quiet mark of the person who made it.
The Studios
Work happens in small family studios, not factories. Scale is intentional: it allows for care, for conversation, and for quality that cannot be replicated at speed. We visit our makers regularly and maintain direct relationships with every studio we work with.
The Techniques
We work predominantly with undyed merino wool — chosen for its natural softness, temperature regulation, and the beauty of its raw colour. For our silk pieces, we use plant-based and vegetable-waste dyes: avocado, eucalyptus, onion, loquat. The colours are one-of-a-kind, shaped by season and source. No two dye batches are identical.
